Smokescreen - Ken Matthews' quest for the truth
Smokescreen - one man's fight for justice

John Fletcher, said to be the father of Ken Matthews Ivy Pinn, the mother of Ken Matthews

John Fletcher [Jock] and Ivy Pinn are said to have enjoyed a 12 year love affair that flourished despite his long absences, his turbulent marriage and the class barrier that his family were so keen to remind him existed between him and Ivy.

Jock had a car that would by its very appearance make it noticeable in the village, and he would be seen driving into the hamlet of Groes waiting for Ivy to join him for drives in the countryside.

Sworn affidavits from Jenny Jones and Val Evans are testimony to Jock and Ivy's love affair. They have also given video evidence, together with Ken Styles, that the affair was well known within the area.

A local solicitor has also confirmed that he had heard about Jock Fletcher making one of the maids pregnant.

When questioned by BBC Front Line Scotland, Jenny Jones confirmed that the father of Ivy's child was none other than "Jock Fletcher". Ken Styles had earlier given a video interview confirming that Jock Fletcher was Ken's father ... "They were together every day".

It appeared that Ken Styles' sister was a close confidant of Ivy, and took her job when she was banished from Margam castle in disgrace.
