Smokescreen - Ken Matthews' quest for the truth
Smokescreen - one man's fight for justice

John Theodore Talbot Fletcher's medical records were obtained by solicitors acting for Ken Matthews some years ago.

Only recently a chance remark by a doctor to Ken indicated that a Post Mortem would be required if a patient had not been seen by a doctor within 14 days prior to the death.

Careful scrutiny of the records has proven to be most enlightening - the medical records appear to show the last time Jock Fletcher saw a doctor was on 3rd February 1995.

He died on 4th April 1995 - just over two months later - so why was no post mortem carried out?

The death certificate gives cause of death as "influenza" and "old age multi-system failure". Influenza never lasts for two months (does it?) so was he never seen by a doctor during the duration of this influenza? The medical records indicate he wasn't.

Why had this patient of 91 years of age not received a flu injection since 1991, four years earlier?

The medical records (of which we have a full copy) would appear to say on the last entry on the final page, 21st February 1995 [according to the surgery receptionist, the record of a telephone call *to* the surgery] ... "long chat with daughter" ... "no heroic intervention".

Mr. Fletcher HAD no daughter.

There are a great many questions surrounding this death to which we should like to see proper answers given. Our copy of the medical records is freely available to the police and to the press.

There are many pages of research and proofs to be added to this website - Ken Matthews and his wife Penny have discovered so many "coincidences" that it makes disturbing reading. These are the main areas of enquiry that will be covered [some are still under construction but we're adding new info regularly] - click on any of the boxes below to reach the relevant area.
